Did you ever stop to think about time?
I don’t care how rich you are, you can’t buy time just like you can’t buy happiness.
Time is everyone’s most valuable possession. And the one thing most think/care about the least.
I repeat, THE LEAST!!!
Last week, I went to an all day work meeting. And someone brought up the greatest quote.
“Are you spending time or investing time?”
If you are spending time, you are going through your every day life with zero plans, zero goals,
zero idea of what you would like to accomplish before bed.
You go through life like you are going to live forever. So why care today? “I’ll wake up tomorrow and
get a chance to do it all over again, and maybe tomorrow I will try doing “xyz,” or maybe not.”
That’s spending your time. A time you will never get back, a time wasted.
Investing your time is quite the opposite.
Investing your time is waking up with a plan. It’s knowing “what, how, and when.” And it is not easy.
It’s not easy to wake up everyday with a purpose. No matter how small that purpose may be.
But waking up with a purpose creates happiness. If you are going to work everyday without a goal,
you are probably going to work everyday miserable as fuck.
On the other hand, if you go to work everyday and know what you want to accomplish, your day will
turn out very different. You will most likely be extremely productive and feel like the day wasn’t a
Have you ever felt like your day was a complete waste? Hell, I know I have!
I’ve had days where I just didn’t give a damn. I didn’t want to be at work, I didn’t want to deal with
the same old, same old. And I felt so shitty by the end of it. I felt like I just lost a day of my life that
I will never get back. We are not aliens, we all have “those” days.
Don’t feel bad if you wasted a few days of your life before.
But look to utilize your time wisely, starting today.
Wake up with a plan, no matter how small. Ex. “Today, I will make an old lady smile and I will workout.”
It doesn’t matter what it is! As long as it’s a goal.
Start thinking about time as the most valuable possession you own. Because it is!
Tomorrow isn’t promised.
If you knew today was your last day to live, what would you have done differently?
*Above is what I’m reflecting on this week. Above is how I will think differently to not live an ordinary life*
